COORDINATING YOUR DAY
Who will execute the details on YOUR wedding day? Who will
set up the centerpieces, favors, guest book, and ensure you get everything back at
the end of the night? If you don’t hire a day of coordinator, it will be mom,
aunt, other family or friends or you will pay the reception site extra.Yes, they love you and yes, they will want to help; however, your family and friends
should spend the morning of your wedding getting themselves ready and making sure you look beautiful. Dressing up the church, decorating the reception space, laying down tablecloths, setting out centerpieces or tying chair
sashes is the duty of your wedding day of coordinator.
As one bride puts it, "This was a big “What I learned” moment for me. During my wedding planning my mom decided her and my aunts would do the setup for my reception. As the time drew closer I knew this was going to be too much work. I convinced my mom to hire a day-of-planner. Best decision! My mom and aunts were able to be with me when I got ready and spend that time with me before the wedding. It was much more important for me to have them there. While you and your family are relaxing and enjoying your ceremony, your coordinator is still making things work behind the scenes. In addition to making sure the cocktail hour is set up for guests for after the ceremony, making sure the reception space is fully decorated and the vendors are in place there awaiting your grand entrance as the newlyweds; a great coordinator will have a time line coordinating when dinner will be served, first dance , toasts, cake cutting, garter and bouquet toss and all of the other special events you want to take place during your special day leading up to your grand exit. The best coordinators are the first to arrive and the last to leave, making sure every step in between is carefully and successfully coordinated.

While you you may be hesitant to hire a day of coordinator because of the additional costs, consider the value of knowing your wedding day will be just as special you wanted and your family and friends are enjoying it by your side, not behind the scenes.
